Prayer is a foundational part of Elizabeth Presbyterian Church.
Every staff person, every church leader, every important decision,
every ministry, and every person (who wants to be or needs to be) is
supported in prayer.
Prayer is an important part of every worship service – before,
during and after. We say after, because people are available after
each service to pray with anyone who may be in urgent need of
prayer.
A telephone prayer chain is also ready and available for anyone, any
time. If you need prayer right now, you have a couple of options. If
you're a regular participant of our church, you're probably part of
a Deacon Care Group. If you know who your care group deacon is, give
her or him a call. Your request will be brought to the Lord in
prayer by the entire board of deacons. If you're not a regular
participant, or don't know who your deacon is, or you just want to
be sure every prayer warrior West of the Mississippi is covering you
in prayer, call Marlene Reynolds at 303-646-9155, or e-mail her at
bypassnani@aol.com.
Sunday Evening Hour of Power. In addition to all the above, a prayer
group meets every Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. in the manse. The
number varies, but all are welcome to come – to pray or to be prayed
for. The group covers all the written prayer request cards turned in
during that morning's worship services. (The cards are available in
the pews and may be put in the offering plate when it comes around.)
The group also prays for the leaders and work of the church, as well
as for the leaders and work of the missions the church supports. And
they pray for whoever and whatever is on their hearts.
