Elizabeth Presbyterian Women (EPW)

The EPW is a group of women dedicated to serving God’s people in whatever way they can.

The EPW has just published their first Cookbook!  It includes recipes from members of the EPC congregation, as well as the EPW.  Lots of great recipes are in it!  It is available for purchase for $15.00.  Please contact Marlene Reynolds (303-646-9155) about purchasing this wonderful collection!  It makes a great gift!

Every year, the EPW sponsors a drive for shoebox gifts for the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child program. Every year they organize a drive for layettes to give to Bethany Christian Services. They collect old cell phones year-round, and give them to the fire department to be re-programmed and given out to seniors in the community.

Currently, the EPW is making a Freedom Quilt, as part of a nationwide effort to give quilts to the families of soldiers who have given their lives in defense of our freedom.

The EPW is always available, on very short notice, to serve a luncheon or dinner at memorial services and other functions.

In addition to the above “hands-on” ministries, the EPW also provides financial support to the Denver Street School and the Denver Inner City Parish. They provide the Our Daily Bread devotional booklets that are always on the table in the foyer for people to take home free. They regularly buy needed items for the church, like the beautiful new card tables that recently appeared. This year, they’re also buying Chrismon ornaments for the EPC Christmas tree.

Where do they come up with the money for all this? They work for it. Twice a month, every other month, they raise funds by serving dinner to the Lions’ Club. Another large fund raising event is their annual Valentines Day Sweethearts Dinner. An enormous amount of energy goes into preparing a beautiful dinner, arranging for door prizes, and organizing entertainment to make for a great evening of Christian fellowship.

Recently, they also sold lunches and baked goods at the EPC rummage sale to raise money for the EPC general fund. They also help supplement the general fund by selling Safeway Gift cards every Sunday.

The EPW is constantly at work to make things a little better at our church, in our community, around the region, the country and the world. With more members, they could do even more. Would you like to be a part of this ministry? Call Oletha Tanin at 303-688-4567.
