outside the walls
Our missions outside the walls of the church.
Elizabeth Presbyterian Church is striving to be a truly mission-driven congregation. The impact of this effort reaches near and far. Not only are we working to bring the help, hope, love and compassion of Christ to the people of our own community, we support other ministries around the region and the world, including the following.
A Denver-area ministry providing Christian counseling and support to women facing unwanted pregnancies. You can learn more about APC at www.youhavealternatives.org.
A ministry providing hope and a second chance to at-risk high school students. You can learn more at www.denverstreetschool.org.
A Denver-area ministry that matches Christian volunteers with young people on probation to provide friendship and support. Please visit www.friendsforyouthdenver.com for more information.
A cooperative effort with other member churches of the Denver Presbytery to support the Network Coffeehouse. Located in the Capitol Hill area of Denver, the coffeehouse offers a place for homeless and mentally ill people to come in out of the cold and find Christ-like friendship over a hot cup of coffee. You can read more about this great group at www.networkcoffeehouse.org
A ministry to orphaned and desperately poor children in Linjiang, China. The ministry distributes food to families throughout the region and operates Hope House, an orphanage on the banks of the Yalu River, the border between China and North Korea. For more information about Threshold, visit www.tmihope.org.
A cooperative effort among several member churches of the Denver Presbytery. The ministry operates an orphan care center that is feeding, clothing and helping with the school fees and medical care for about 800 children in the Nyamashato region of Zimbabwe. The ministry was founded by Ralph and Roberta Pippitt, members of New Hope Presbyterian Church in Castle Rock. For more information, please visit www.zimpartnership.org.
